This morning on my way out of Star Bucks to go back home, I'm about to get into the car when I hear this pathetic sounding 'mew' in the background. I of course turn to find the source because it sounded a bit distressed. I keep hearing the 'mew' and track it down until I'm behind the shops dumpster and find this tiny ball of fluff huddled behind it looking lost and terrified. When it saw me it toddled on shaky legs to huddle next to my foot. I picked it up and carried it home because I wasn't about to leave something so tiny and helpless alone in the cold. When I got the kitten home, warmed, and fed I gave it a good looking over. It's a she and appears to be a scottish fold kitten with the traditional folded down ears. She has a white, medium length coat with pale orange markings. I'm assuming she must be someones pet even though she didn't have a collar. Tomorrow I'm taking her to the vet to have her checked for a chip and to be sure she's healthy. I've made a few 'lost kitten' posters to post at the vet and local pounds in case someone comes looking. But if no one comes to claim her in a reasonable amount of time I would like to keep her. I'm trying not to get attatched, but it's hard. She's the sweetest little thing. I lost my beloved baby boy, Gizzy, a few months back and it's been hard to deal with. But when I look at her big green eyes I don't feel like crying for once. Maybe it's fate, I don't know. I just want what's best for her to have a long, happy, healthy kitty life. I just wanted to share and see how others have handled rescuing a kitten/cat. Thanks for reading. I'll get pics when she's settled down and not so skittish. (This is not her, but a pic I found that closely resembles her to give you some sort of idea.)
